t420 review

my vaio was old. Now it went to the box on the edge of my room.
I had to buy new note book.
Eventually, I choosed T420 from lenovo.
I am sure if I wait until September or hopely the black friday
I could've bought better one that I want with spec.
However, my old one was so slow and stuck for min with every click or input,
and I was forced to do homework with my com.
T420 from ebay came at the exact time they promised.

Previously the resolution of the monitor was 11" 1366*768.
I couldn't accept 13" or 14" with 1366*768 with other pretty notebook though they offer beautiful design and great functions.

I love 14" 1600*900 of T420
Merit
1. keyboard wide key.

A lot of blogs shows the merit of T420. So I may mention demerit I felt for my next choice after my T420.
Of course I love my T420 that has those merits that the blogs mentioned.

Demerit
1. swapping ctrl and Fn key
I don't know why lenovo stick to this option.
2. power button gives me slanted feeling when I push it.
3. no usb 3.0
I don't know how good usb3.0 is so I want to have it.
4. sd card slot is unconvenient to use.
5. On the flat there are several hole with steel. I already fold a steel in the hole while I try to put my 4 gb memory.
6. delete key is not in the edge of right up most. why?
7. I still don't know how to use touchpad. I need guidebook for it.
8. a little bit heavier than I expected. 4.6 lbs means a little bit over 2.0 kg
9. I still couldn't find the function that is playing music and monitor out.
10. I found out that the screen is not good when you miss the position of front angle. That means you have to keep the right angle to set your eyes just in front of the screen or you will lose your color or get negative sight(10 Aug 2011)

I wish T420 costed $1,000 but it costed $1,499 however it's still cheeper than the price online lenovo suggested.
